Fundraising for Royal Star & Garter
Story

My name is Kevin Rudge and I live in Solihull, I first visited the Royal Star and Garter Home in Solihull in 2012 when I was looking for care for my father, it is a magical place. My father went into the home that year and spent the last year of his life there, where he received the most fantastic care imaginable. Not only was my father well looked after but the staff were also amazing to us all as a family, extremely supportive and understanding.
After my Father passed away in 2013 the Home continued to play an important part in my life, I started off volunteering as a fundraiser and then got a job working for the Charity in 2017 , I am now a Community Fundraiser.
As well as caring for my Father the home have also looked after my Mother in law & Father in law who both experienced fantastic care as they approached the end of their lives.
The Solihull home now requires a new minibus to be able to continue to take out the residents for local activity's and any hospital appointments they may have. I would like to raise money to give something back to this wonderful home and by running the half marathon I hope to raise some money for this new minibus.
I'm really looking forward to this challenge and raising as much money for the Solihull home as I can.
