Headlight Mental Health Charity is the registered charity of Avon and Wiltshire Mental Health Partnership NHS Trust. Charitable donations provide the support for the extra things that aren’t possible from the funding we receive from our statutory work.

Story

We don't have a single neat story that sums up the type of people we help. Mental health affects any and all of us, and doesn't discriminate by age, gender or race. Each year, 1 in 4 of us will experience mental health issues. At AWP we help anyone struggling with mental health problems, from repeat offenders to teachers. They turn to us at the toughest times, and we're there to support them through their recovery.By supporting Headlight, the Trust's registered charity, you are helping us to do more for mental health.

Just over a year ago I changed my life to improve my fitness and it's had a massive positive impact on my mental wellbeing too. When I saw this trek I knew I just had to take part to push myself physically and mentally and to raise money for a cause I have worked in for 20 years as a Registered Mental Health Nurse. It will be an adventure, a journey, and a chance to raise funds for vital services whilst getting snow on my boots in an Arctic wilderness, an ambition I've had for many years.
