In 2013 I was involved in an accident where part of a truck collapsed on both of my legs, snapping my right femur in two just above the knee. The decision was made to move me to hospital via the air ambulance. They inserted a metal rod inside the bone to keep my leg straight but due to complications and several operations I thought that I would not be able to walk again properly, let alone run. I am going to run the 2018 London Marathon for the Air Ambulance service to give something back to part of the team that has helped me to get back on my feet
