Story
At the age of 35 i got diagnosed with Polycystic Liver disease.
Polycystic liver disease (PLD) is a hereditary condition where the normal liver tissue is replaced by numerous fluid-filled cysts. It is often associated with autosomal-dominant polycystic kidney disease (ADPKD) but can also occur in isolation. Many people with PLD have no symptoms and are diagnosed incidentally, but severe cases can cause abdominal pain, bloating, and early satiety, which may require treatment ranging from medication to surgery.
I was asked by my Liver consultation team after two Liver transplantation assessments to lose about 40 kilos of weight, for better health and to aid in the recovery of a major surgical procedure set for next year.
Through my weight loss journey i have taken up training, cycling and road running again after many years of not training. I have completed quite a few personal challenges i believed were impossible to achieve with my condition. I was approached by the Kings College Hospital Charity with the possibility of taking part in a London Half Marathon !!
I have taken it on board and though its going to be very difficult to achieve, I'm going to give it my best.
Please help me help others by donating to my just giving page. This will help the Kings College Hospital Charity to help others in my position.
Every little helps !!
A big thankyou to my family and friends for your continued support always
Love you all xx
