Story
Kevin had a lifelong commitment to social justice. He grew up in war time and post war Liverpool and studied and then brought up his own family in Hull. Both of these cities suffered from the scourges of devastation through bombing, extreme poverty, and poor and insufficient housing. The need for decent and affordable housing as a basic human right could not have been clearer. Sadly, it is a need that continues to this day. Everyone deserves the dignity of a place they can call home.
Throughout his time in Parliament Kevin campaigned for more support and protections to end rough sleeping and for decent and affordable housing for all.
The work of Shelter provides vital advice and support for those who are or at risk of becoming homeless, as well as campaigning to address the root causes of homelessness.
Thank you for your support.
