My first run for charity was a 5K for SHINE for SYRIA (Muslim Hands) (thanks for your donations!) now I think I am ready for a 10k! Below is Housing for Women's story which resonates with me and would like to support in some way: 

Housing for Women is a housing provider and a charity with a mission to empower women and challenge inequalities they face. Through our supported housing projects and refuges, we empower women to rebuild their lives after they have been trafficked, seek safety and support from domestic abuse and re-establish their families and relationships with children on leaving prison. We help women to access safety, develop skills and rebuild their lives and believe everyone has a right to affordable housing regardless of circumstance.

In support of the services we provide, the time has come for our annual 'Housing For Women's Epic 10k Run'. Since 2014, hundreds of individuals have taken part and helped raise over £50,000!  The run is a fantastic opportunity to have fun and get fit while making a tangible difference to your community. Whether you like to run on your own or you want to put a team together, you can really make a difference to the lives of women affected by violence in London. 

• £250 could pay for a day out at the Aquarium for a group of children staying at our refuges, providing much-needed respite and opportunities for peer support.    

 • £1,200 could support the yearly living costs of two victims of human trafficking while they await the outcome of their asylum application.

 • £2,000 could help provide family therapy for eight women and their children at our refuges, enabling them to overcome the trauma of their abuse.
