It's my 21st birthday and, as it's a milestone, I wanted to do something special. I asked my family and friends not to spend money on presents, but instead donate the amount to a cause that means a lot to me. I am passionate about health and education, and what better way to combine the two than to contribute to the physical and academic wellness of children who need it the most. 

WF-AIDs Fill My Cup appeal provides primary school children - the age of my little sister (and younger!) - in Kenya and Tanzania with a hot and nutritious breakfast every single morning. This nutritious breakfast contains wimbi flour, sugar and milk, all ingredients that will keep the children full and nourished. For some, it is the only filling meal they eat that day.

It costs only £24 (£2/month) to feed a child for a whole year. The target, for my 21st birthday, is to raise funds to feed at least 21 children. Let this be your gift to me and to the young children who are the generation of tomorrow. Every little helps!

Dearest family and friends,

I cannot tell you have grateful I am for all your generous donations!

When I launched the page on the day of my birthday, I was quite skeptical about being able to reach my target of £504. My parents told me to leave it to God and let Him work wonders - and He did! Within only 36 hours of going live, not only was the target achieved, it was also exceeded. And I've been jumping in joy every time I received an email about a new donation. We are currently at £553.46 and I'm gobsmacked!

Most donations are anonymous so please consider this a personal message from me to you. I want to thank you, from the bottom of my heart, for your generous donations, support and well wishes. All credit goes to you! Every child's cup that you have helped fill will go such a long way in their life.

Knowing that at least 22 children will not go to school hungry due to our collective efforts is the best birthday present I've had.
