In 2011 our lives changed forever when our then 5 year old daughter Megan was diagnosed with cancer in her spine.The last few years have opened our eyes to the world of childhood cancer and we now realise:

- cancer kills more children than any other disease 
- childhood cancers are different from adult cancers. They need dedicated research, and more funding
- over the past 20 years the number of children with cancer has risen 29%.
The number of new drugs for childhood cancer released in the same time – One.

We have been truly inspired by many amazing children (including Megan!) going through tough times with immense grace and bravery. With more research and awareness of childhood cancer fewer kids would need to suffer from cancer. In the time it takes you to read this and make a donation, somewhere one young son or daughter will lose their battle. 

After several relapses Megan received a terminal diagnosis in May 2016. In typical style she accepted the devastating news and took it in her stride. We brought her back from hospital to care for her at home at the end of June. She surprised all the (wonderful) medical team by continuing her battle until 20th September when she died peacefully with us both and Anna by her side. She remained uncomplaining and smiling throughout her long journey.

On 31st August 2013, with some friends, we walked 60k over 2 days to raise money for childhood cancer research. Since then so many people have continued to donate to this site in honor of Megan.  So we'd like to keep the fundraising going to help other children to enjoy a long and happy life.
