The Housing Justice Marathon

Strip for Simon Marathon - in aid of the Simon Community South East · 18 April 2021
The Housing Justice Marathon
I firmly believe that housing is a basic human right and that in order to stop the endless housing crisis we must hugely increase the building of public social housing. We must find alternatives to the current housing model which leaves too many people homeless and so many others trapped paying exorbitant rents. As income inequality deepens this problem will only become more severe. This is a local, national, and global issue.
We need to stop the proposed Land Development Agency Bill which will see large amounts of public land begin given away to private developers. This is absolutely NOT the way to solve the housing crisis. In fact, it will only make things worse.
If you believe in housing as a basic human right please give a donation. All donations will go to the Simon Community South East.
A better world is possible.
Thanks in advance,
Kieran McBride
Note: an idea arose to do this as a ‘Strip for Simon’ marathon which would have involved me taking off clothes during the marathon until I was as naked as legally possible at the end. I found the idea highly entertaining but thought it better to wait to get more people involved. The Simon Community love the idea so I hope to launch the ‘Strip for Simon’ mini-marathon next year. I will provide anyone who is interested with a 4 month mini-marathon training plan. There is no need to strip off if you don’t want to.
