Story
Hello everyone.
I don't need to introduce you to cancer. Your life, like mine, has probably already been affected by losing someone you love because of it.
We're helpless to help fight cancer though, right? Isn't funding research the only thing we can do to help cure it?
Wrong.
You already do have the power to save someone's life from blood cancer: by signing up to be a blood stem cell donor. It goes without saying that a successful match is something that no funding or money can buy.
This might be news to you. It was to us last year when we learnt that Emily's cousin Peter was diagnosed with myeloma, a form of blood cancer.
To give him the best shot of beating it he needs a matching donor. That donor hasn't been found yet. My best guess is that there's a donor that also doesn't know the power they have to save a life.
Peter has been doing phenomenal work to raise awareness of how easy it is to become a donor. His 10,000 new donors campaign already has over 3,000 registered since launching a few months ago. Not only that, but 3 matching donors have been found because of the campaign.
I'm proud to be running the London Marathon in 2019 for DKMS.
DKMS exist to find donor match for every person who needs one. To delete blood cancer.
Supporting me will help DKMS continue to do the incredible work they are doing.
You can read more about Peter's campaign and sign up at 10000donors.com
Your support is hugely appreciated. For those who live in London, I hope to see as many faces as possible on the finish line in April next year.
Thank you,
Kieran
