Hello, my name is Kieran Liggins. I was born , raised and educated in Coventry; the heart of the UK. I have just achieved a 2:1 in Visual Communications (Photography) at Birmingham City University (BCU). During my studies at BCU, I came across many photographs of the peoples of far-flung countries and realised they are not all privy to the luxuries we enjoy in the western world.
One such country is Nepal in the Himalayas. For the
Nepalese people, the difficulties of work opportunities, housing, clean water and its supply, plus transport have all been intensified by two recent earthquakes. The inhabitants of this small nation need help with money, equipment, supplies and labour to get them back on their feet. Raleigh international offer that opportunity , with outstanding results Raleigh have the insight and experience to make an impact on the unfortunate and to make an everlasting change within our globe.
However, this is where you and I come in.
Myself and several other like-minded volunteers are
travelling to Nepal at the end of April for a three months spell to assist with the labour part of this task. With me working in conjunction with Raleigh International, we are to help with construction work, trench excavation and the laying of water pipes and the creation of latrines. Furthermore, we as volunteers will work alongside the local communities in supporting the projects we have initiated to secure their future and to have a lasting impact on generations to come.
However, for me to make the change I am looking for , I need to raise the money for Raleigh international to help me travel to Nepal plus the equipment and tools required. I am asking on behalf of the Nepalese villagers if you could donate a sum of money, (however small), to allow us to make inroads into this long term project and to make real change for real lives.
Thank you for taking the time to read this.
