The furthest I have ever swum is 1km, so at 2.25km, this is a bit more; and I swum that in a pool, not the sea - surely this is worth a punt just to see if I drown??

Pier to Pier is from Bournemouth Pier to Boscombe Pier, it's Bournemouths' equivalent of London's Marathon, though 1.4 miles in the water rather than 26 on the land.
