Around since 1923, SAMH currently operates over 60 services in communities across Scotland. These services together with our national programme work in See Me, respectme, suicide prevention, sport and physical activity; inform our policy and campaign work to influence positive social change.

Story

Since retiring from professional sport I have dedicated my life to helping prepare athletes for life after sport as well as working for Frog Systems in their quest to share lived experience stories to offer hope and signpost support to those in need. During my work I stumbled  across SAMH and saw the great work they are doing with their offering of support and services.

I personally had struggled since my retirement from sport and found running was a great coping strategy to help me stay both mentally and physically fit. From this, I have grown in confidence and I am now ready to take on my next challenge of running a Marathon. By taking on this challenge I hope to raise some funds for SAMH and support them in any way I can. Hopefully I can create more awareness of the supports that are available and the creation of more services for those in need.

Take and give care,

Kieron
