Far too many of us have felt the pain of losing someone we love. With your donations, we power groundbreaking cardiovascular research to save and improve lives, bring hope to families, and keep hearts beating across the UK.

Story

My name is Kieron Duggan, I am a Sport lecturer at Banbury and Bicester College. For my students, they are taking on PBL (Project Based Learning). This enables them to learn outside the classroom and gain transferrable and social skills ready for their careers in sport and beyond when they leave further education. They also gain development on their learning attributes which here at Activate Learning we enable in our learning philosophy. The students are looking to raise money for a chosen charity or two whilst also linking with their units on their course.

In the UK, there are over 30,000 our-of-hospital cardiac arrests (OHCA) a year where emergency medical services attempt to resuscitate the victim. However,  the survival rate is low - just 1 in 10 people in the UK survive an OHCA.

One of these people was Andrew Steele who sadly lost his life in April 2022 due to a cardiac arrest. He was only 36. Andrew was a massive part of Banbury United and well know in the Banbury community. Andrew will never be forgotten by family, friends, and the Banbury United community.

The level 3 sport students of Banbury and Bicester College have the opportunity to raise money and provide awareness of cardiac arrest in the young but most importantly, celebrating the life of Andrew Steele
