Story
Hi, hello, thank you for clicking this far!
I'll be celebrating a birthday very soon and then Christmas will come shortly after it. It's been a very bizarre and uneasy year for everyone but I am very thankful and fortunate to say I have made it this far relatively untouched by the madness (knock on wood).
There are however, many, many people that have been impacted by this years events and none more so than those living with already limited resources. Unfortunately this means that asylum seekers, refugees and migrant women are some of the worst affected and they are having to live in fear and danger while a pandemic rages on and the UK government has called to purposefully make this country more inhospitable than it was before.
I reject this sentiment wholeheartedly and would like to help in whatever small way I can, so this year I would love it if the friends and family I have that would have bought me gifts anyways would instead think of donating the money to this page and to the Ubuntu Women Shelter in Glasgow. They do incredible work to ensure 'The prevention or relief of poverty in Scotland amongst womxn with unclear immigration status, no recourse to public funds (NRPF) and women unable to access homelessness, welfare and housing services by setting up and running a free night shelter providing emergency and short term accommodation.' (Constitution of Ubuntu Women Shelter)
To celebrate another year down I'll be taking a big walk from Glasgow to Loch Lomond but I'm waiting to see what the 'Tier' sitch is for the next few weeks. I'm not making it a sponsored walk though because I love to walk anyways!
Thank you and have a lovely day :)
