Story

Hi everyone ☺️

Thank you so much for visiting my JustGiving page and taking the time to read my story.

On 19th September 2018 I will begin my journey from North Wales to Tanzania to climb mount Kilimanjaro for Hope House Ty Gobaith in memory of Chloe Farrell. Chloe was the best friend anyone could ever have wished for - she was so beautiful and smiley and lit up any room she entered. She was a huge supporter of Hope House herself and was one of their Hearts of Gold members who pledge to donate £5000 per year.

As a charity, Hope House needs an annual income of over £6.3 million to carry on meeting the needs of all the children and their families who rely on them, and almost all of their income is raised by us within the community. And sadly, every single week, three families in the area face the heartbreak of losing a child - right now Hope House can only afford to help one of those families.

The services and support that Ty Gobaith offered to Chloe’s family during such a heartbreaking time is something I will never be able to show how grateful I am for. After Chlo died she went to stay in the snowflake suite at Ty Gobaith. I bought angel wing ChloBo bracelets for her, myself and Nicola and having Chlo up at Ty Gobaith meant that I could give her her bracelet, spend some time with her and say my final goodbyes in a really lovely place. I spent two days at the hospice in the end as the staff were so supportive, and having Chlo there and being with her helped me deal with the shock... I’d only seen her 3 days before my whole life changed 💔

So in memory of our angel and to try and do her and everyone who loved her proud, I’m determined to get to the top. The funds from my climb will be used to extend the existing snowflake facilities up at Ty Gobaith and help them to continue providing the service for families who need them in future.

Kilimanjaro is the highest mountain in Africa and stands at 19,336ft (which is six times the height of Snowdon) It's the tallest freestanding mountain on the planet and a volcano too. At the top temperatures drop to -25 degrees celsius and there is only half of the oxygen up there than that of sea level. Every year thousands of people are taken off the mountain due to injury or altitude sickness and only around 60% of climbers make it to the top..

But I’m determined to do my girl proud! And with help from the fantastic team at Crime Prevention Services who have kindly agreed to help towards the costs of the trip and sponsor me, and to ensure we can raise as much money as possible for this extremely special cause, the whole trip has been fully self-funded by us - so 100% of anything you donate will all go straight to Hope House Ty Gobaith and ALL of my expenses (flights, insurance, injections, kit, visa etc.) have already been covered. Thank you so much for your help CPS!

I owe Ty Gobaith everything I have for what they did, and continue to do for families each and every day, - so please please please dig deep and sponsor me to support this fantastic charity that will always be really close to my heart.

Pain beyond words needs support without limits.

Thank you ❤️
