UNICEF works to build a better world for every child, every day. A world where every child has the chance to fulfil their potential and grow up healthy and safe. We work in 190 countries and territories around the world, reaching more children than any other humanitarian organisation.

Story

We are a group of friends – Georgios, Nicholas, Remi and Romain – keen to challenge ourselves and seeking to accomplish a once-in-a-lifetime journey by climbing Mount Kilimanjaro in March 2019. We will be leaving to Tanzania for a one-week trek on March 16th, with the goal of reaching the roof of Africa at 5,895m altitude.

While planning our trip and finalising the logistics, we thought that we could make this experience even more purposeful by supporting children in need while pursuing our own aspirations. As such, we decided to partner with UNICEF with the aim of raising £2,000 to contribute towards a universal cause that is close to all of us.

UNICEF works in more than 190 countries worldwide to overcome the obstacles that poverty, violence, disease and discrimination place in a child’s path.

Your contributions, no matter the amount, will help us make an impact. Here are a few real-life examples of how your donations can be used tomorrow:

  • £22: funding a child’s malaria treatment
  • £43: Tetanus vaccines for 500 children
  • £320: building a water pump for a school
  • £1,120: building a temporary clinic

For more details, check out UNICEF page at https://market.unicef.org.uk/inspired-gifts/

All the funds donated will go straight to UNICEF, with the click of your mouse. The cost of the hike will be self-funded.

Remember, there are no big or small contributions - every little bit helps! Thank you for your support.
