This was the third in a series of challenges being under taken by members of the Torbay Lifeboat Crew culminating with the climbing of Mount Kilimanjaro in February 2023.

The swimmers took on an ambitious circumnavigation of Tor Bay over two days, covering a distance of just over 20km. With kayak support from Ibex Canoe Club and several power boats, the swimmers will set out on Day 1 from Hope’s Nose swimming weswards along the northern coast of the Bay, through London Bridge and past Torquay Harbour entrance, before turning south towards Corbyn's Head and onwards past Livermead to Preston Sands, around Roundham Head, past Saltern Cove, and on to Broadsands beach where they finished for a well-deserved rest.

The team regrouped at Broadsands on the morning of Day 2 and set out around Churston Point and Elberry Cove, before heading east along the coast of the picturesque Seven Quarries to Fishcombe Point. The swimmers then turned northwards and headed out into the Bay, took a wide berth around the Breakwater's end to steer clear of Brixham's fishing fleet transiting the harbour. They then tracked back towards Shoalstone and onwards to Berry Head Quarry. The swimmers then regrouped before making their way around Berry Head itself and on to Cod Rock before they returned around Berry Head and swam the final leg back to the Breakwater Beach.
