Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I'm Kilted Caitlin! I am raising funds for a charity close to my heart, Alzheimer Scotland.

Like many, we (the Kilted Mooney team) had our big fundraising event cancelled this year, which was the Glasgow Kiltwalk. We are proposing to do our own Kiltwalk on the 15th of July 2020.

I am walking in memory of Doris Coyle, my Granny and Leonie's (Kilted Leonie's) Mum, who we sadly lost to dementia in 2015, she was a great woman! Now more than ever, charities need our support, and we felt we couldn't wait until next year to take part in a big fundraiser for our chosen two. We also felt it was irresponsible to partake in a mass event any time soon and agreed to do our own virtual event instead, where we can social distance acceptably. We are awaiting a response from Kiltwalk to see that they honour our efforts for this.

We also wanted to note that some people have already supported this event through the EverydayHero page which was set up by Kiltwalk, and want to stress that you do not need to redonate here. This page was closed and we raised roughly £200 between our two charities. We want to reopen this fundraiser here to hopefully reach our £500 target.

Our route will take us from Lambhill in Glasgow, to the Kelpies in Falkirk, along the Forth and Clyde Canal NCR754 Cycle Route/Path, which is roughly 24 miles. We will be documenting our training and you will soon find us on Strava. We will also work to set up a live stream of the big day!
