Story
I've completely fallen in love with running over the last year (as I'm sure you all know!) and wanted to do my first big challenge for charity, so I entered the Lakeland 50 in a team. That's 50 miles, in the Lake District, in one go. As you know, the Lake District isn't very flat! Over the 50 ish miles (82 ish km) there is approximately 3100m (over 10,000ft!) of ascent. We start at 11.30am which means we'll definitely be running the end bit in the dark - I'm not that fast! I'm super excited for the challenge and have been working really hard to train for it, but I want to make it about something bigger than me. I've got a charity place for Epic Kidz (see below) and would be super grateful if you could spare a wee bit of change for them.
Epic Kidz is based in the North West and they provide grants for local volunteer groups organising sporting or recreational activities for children. Working with children I know how important it is that they get to do stuff outside school and experience the wider world, so I'm excited to raise money for such a good cause. See their website for more details: https://epickidz.co.uk/about/
