Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Every penny we raise (I say we as i'll be running on your behalf to donate together) will go towards the £1.6 million FSID needs every year to continue their life-saving work in preventing the tragedy of cot death. Some of you will know that there is a chance I could become infertile after my surgery in May and to have the chance to have a child would be a miracle and a beautiful gift in itself, to have that ripped away when it could be prevented, would be unthinkable. So that is why I chose FSID. Please give whatever you feel you can, even £1 towards my target will help.
Thank you so much in advance - I promise to train hard and run it for all of you and for all those who have been affected by cot death.
Thighs of Steel - here we come!!
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
19/04/2010 - Thighs of Steel - Challenge no.1 - Spinning class and interval running planned in for this evening.
20/04/2010 - Ok - so spinning last night for some reason made me feel physically sick - FANTASTIC!! hehe! Managed to burn 750 calories (this included press-ups, ab work and various squats), wanted to do a couple of miles on the treadmill to add to my exhaustion but the gym is just too busy on a Monday. Boo. Tonight it's time for an outdoor run - at least 4 miles...
21/04/2010 - Ran outside yesterday on hilly terrain (grr) for just over 4 miles - was pretty good but the last hill did me in as it's a long gradient and i'd already spent all my energy increasing the speed on my second lap!! Silly me! Managed to knock my implant in my arm which causes all sorts of havoc in my body so am suffering now. It has triggered the pain in my ovary so will have to wait until that eases off for my next run. Bah!
24/04/2010 - Did no exercise from then up until now, unless you count my rigorous "strutting" around the supermarket the other day where I got a compliment from a lady, quite randomly, about my legs. I quote - "excuse me, I'm not a lezza but you've got lovely legs!" YAY! Thighs of steel!! My pain has eased slightly so will attempt to do some exercise this morning (07:54am on a saturday, people! See my dedication!!!). Will also be dancing the night away at my friend's wedding - squeeze that cardio in!!
11/07/10 - So here I am - i managed to run the whole way, although my ankle and hip felt like they were breaking - my hip is still acting alamingly hours later - so I will be hobbling into work tomorrow!! Very proud of myself and the charity were brilliant at cheering us on - they even provided unlimited tea and other refreshments after - plus free massage!! Awesome!! Thanks to everyone who supported me and the charity. I'm very proud of you all x
