Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
My Mother Judith Evans has been battling a brain tumour for over 24 years and has had to undergo many operations. She has received exceptional care and support from the Singleton Cancer Unit, which has allowed her to live life. With this in mind we have decided to cycle from Holyhead to Kidwelly in two days (170 miles) and hold a Charity Auction Night in Kidwelly Rugby Club at the end of the cycle on Saturday 15th June 2013. We will be raising money for the Golau Cancer Foundation. The foundation is the chemotherapy centre my Mother attends’ charity.
The Golau Cancer Foundation is the new name for fundraising for the South West Wales Cancer Centre. The SWW Cancer Centre is the collective name for the cancer treatment services across South West and West Wales, from Bridgend to Aberystwyth and all across West Wales. South West Wales Cancer Centre is the second largest non-surgical specialist cancer centre in Wales. It gives over 45,000 cancer treatments to people fighting cancer every year. It cares for people from across South West and West Wales, from Aberystwyth to Bridgend. They fight cancer by providing radiotherapy, chemotherapy and other vital specialist cancer treatments.
Thanks to earlier detection and more effective treatments more people are surviving cancer than ever before. It is estimated that by 2015 there will be 30% rise in the cases of the most common forms of cancer in Wales. It is with your support they will be able to continue to provide the highest quality of care and treatment, which helps save the lives of people fighting cancer in Wales.
