Far too many of us have felt the pain of losing someone we love. With your donations, we power groundbreaking cardiovascular research to save and improve lives, bring hope to families, and keep hearts beating across the UK.

Story

Thanks for visiting my page.

Earlier this year, after having a cold, I suffered with a heart infection called Myocarditis, a condition where the heart muscles are inflamed, making your heart pump harder than it should. I then started suffering with another infection called Pericarditis, inflammation of the pericardium, the sac that surrounds your heart. I have now been told that my heart has recovered, there is no scarring, no permanent damage and no heart failure. I now have a condition called costocondritis - because of how serious the heart infection was, my body went into protection mode and although my heart knows it’s better, I now need to relax my muscles.

During this time, I have had to rest plenty but now I’m better and to improve, I need to exercise. I am doing the race at your pace, 25 mile walking challenge. I have to show my proof so there’s no cheating!

As my target and to keep my mind in the game, I'm going to be raising money for the British Heart Foundation's research and I'd be so grateful for your support. The BHF has helped halve the number of people dying from heart and circulatory disease in the UK but sadly every day hundreds of people lose their lives. It's only thanks to support from people like us that the BHF can create new treatments and discover new cures. £24 could pay for two hours of research by an early career scientist, but every pound helps so please give what you can to help me hit my target. Thanks!
