Eating disorders don't only affect your body physically but also consume your mind, your self esteem, self worth, confidence, personality and dominate your every waking moment, robbing you of life. 

I know first hand the effect they have on the lives of those who suffer and those around them. I lost myself and many years of my life on a constant exhausting struggle and I feel so fortunate and grateful that I was able to have the love, support and strength to recover.

Sadly this is not always the case and many people lose lives to this monster of a disease. The truth is that Eating disorders have the highest mortality rate of any mental illness..... 

I volunteered for a while at a support group for people with Eating Disorders which is where I met Natalie... 

An amazing young girl plagued with an eating disorder. She was a passionate, beautiful soul. Kind and loving with so much to offer to everyone who had the pleasure of meeting her. She heartbreakingly left this world far sooner than she should have and left a whole in the hearts of many!

I am so passionate about raising awareness and money for this cause. I genuinely believe with more support and understanding there can be a difference made to the amount of people losing lives and suffering with eating disorders. 

I believe that early diagnosis is key and intervention at the earliest stage is absolutely critical for recovery. We need to be more aware of the signs and symptoms and the help that is out there for those suffering which sadly is hard to find. 

The charity Quiz will take place on Sat 7th March at Birchwood Breakthrough centre with all proceeds going to BEAT eating disorders charity.
Teams need to be a minimum of 4 people (£3.50 entry per person), There will be a raffle and nibbles, Bring your own drinks and come and raise some money and awareness for a great cause I care so much about. Please get in touch if you want to come along to the event and/or donate a raffle prize.
