In June 2026 I will face my toughest personal challenge ever, as I join around 50 others as we trek up Mount Mulhacen at 3,428m it is the third highest peak in continental Europe!

Without a shadow of a doubt, this will test me like nothing has before, it equates to 4 times the height of Pen Y Fan or 2.5 times the height of Ben Nevis!

Why? I hear you ask.

Quite simply, for Dad.

My Dad’s passed away in 2015 after a short battle with cancer.

During the first few months of 2015 Dad was treated at Velindre and he and us as a family were shown nothing but care, consideration, and love- everyone at Velindre treated my Dad as if he were part of their own family and for that I will always be grateful.

Velindre Cancer Centre is recognised as The Hospital Of Hope and they have been providing specialist treatment and supportive care to cancer patients and families for over 65 years. Money raised for Velindre Cancer Centre helps fund ground breaking research and clinical trials, cutting edge treatments, specialist nurses, support services, therapies, equipment and so much more.

If you can spare a £1 or a Penny towards this cause, I will be forever grateful. I was my Dad’s shadow so with him on my shoulder and all of you behind me, we can do this!
