Story

Kingcombe Meadows - the next 20 years

We have just celebrated the 20th anniversary of our unique nature reserve at Kingcombe Meadows and we are now asking for help in ensuring this nationally important wildlife haven continues to thrive in the future. We need to raise £40,000 to enable us to start realising our vision for Kingcombe Meadows as the centrepiece of our conservation work in the county for the next 20 years.

Much of the infrastructure at Kingcombe, such as fencing and gating, is in urgent need of replacement and many of the hedges need re-laying. We also need to improve public access, create better facilities for visitors and expand our education programme, in partnership with the Kingcombe Centre, to enable more schools and community groups to benefit.

Here's the difference you can make right now:

£20 will but 5m of essential fencing
£50 pays for an education officer to spend half a day in a local school
£100 pays for 40 metres of hedge to be laid traditionally
£250 will fund two field gates

With you help this remarkable wildlife site can continue to be evocative of the British countryside as it once was, for all to enjoy today and for generations to come.

I hope you are able to contribute to this important appeal. Further information can be found on our website: www.dorsetwildlife.co.uk or if you would like to discuss any aspect of this further, then please contact us on 01305 264620.

Thank you very much for your support.
