Our Dougie Mac Memory Walk is a family-friendly series of sponsored walks suitable for all ages and abilities to come together to remember a loved one and raise much needed funds for your local adult hospice.

Story

There are many reasons to walk . . . in memory of loved ones or to support others who have lost someone or just because youd like to support your local adult hospice Dougie Mac. Karen Smith from Trentham, took part in Dougie Macs recent Step Out walk after her Dad, John Pickston passed away at the Hospice. She was joined by husband Hadrian and daughters Hannah and Kimberley. As a family we feel it's important to support the Hospice. The Hospice staff became such a big part of our lives during Dad's illness and to raise money for them to continue their amazing work is very close to our hearts. We did our family walk in memory of my Dad who always told his palliative care nurse that she must have more poorly patients to look after than him. He was so grateful for the love and support he received and if we can help to raise funds and awareness for the Hospice, we'll do Dad proud"
