In memory of Thomas Parker
Your money will fund research. Our research will beat cancer. Stand Up To Cancer brings the UK together to raise money to accelerate progress in cancer research. Donations will be made to Cancer Research UK in support of the Stand Up To Cancer campaign.

Story

Thomas Antony Parker, 33, better known as Tom Parker, was 1/5 of boyband The Wanted. He was diagnosed with an inoperable brain tumour, glioblastoma, in the middle of the coronavirus pandemic and October of 2020. Parker had two young girls under 2 with wife Kelsey.

As only a fan of the group, of course I can only give limited information but he was certainly open about his condition and wanting to raise awareness for people in similar situations. He participated in such things like concerts, appeared on tv awareness program "Stand Up To Cancer" talking about the cancer he had both with his band mates, Max George, Nathan Sykes, Jay McGuiness and Siva Kaneswaran to do this and raise money too.

I believe this is what he would've wanted with everything that he put into getting the word out. Statistics according to the charity website (https://www.thebraintumourcharity.org/brain-tumour-diagnosis-treatment/types-of-brain-tumour-adult/glioblastoma/glioblastoma-prognosis/ 31st March 2022) state that "survival rate is 12-18 months" and with money for research this will one day change. Thank you for all your contributions on behalf of those close to Tom.
