Kiran’s Story:
I am raising money for NishkamSWAT (Sikh Welfare and Awareness Team) by undertaking a 26 mile charity walk from Southall to Piccadilly Circus and then back. All the money raised will help to provide much needed funds for the charity, allowing them to continue to serve over 3000 meals every week and provide essential provisions to the homeless and displaced communities in the UK.
My passion and love for charity and helping others has only grown as I have got older. For me personally, I believe it is really important to give back to people who are less fortunate. I have been privileged in life to grow up without having suffered the hardships hundreds and thousands of people suffer each day.
Earlier this year, I attended the Southall Nagar Kirtan, and after seeing the NishkamSWAT stall, I finally decided this was my opportunity to get involved in the work I had admired for so many years and give back. I have been fortunate enough to volunteer on the streets with the charity and see first-hand the difference their work really makes.
On behalf of the Nishkam SWAT team, I would like to thank you for your donation.
Sarb’s Story:
This year I have decided to challenge myself – 26 miles is not for the faint-hearted. When Kiran said she wanted to do this 26 mile charity walk, I instantly decided that this would be a great opportunity.
For me personally, I really want to chance to help others who are less fortunate, and through challenging myself and giving up some of my time, I hope that I will really be able to really make a difference.
