I chose Plan because my own Mum grew up in the Philippines, one of the countries this charity supports.

From talking to my Mum, I can understand to an extent some of the challenges faced as a woman growing up in a thirld world country. In recent times these issues are coming more to light, including issues surrounding gender and economic equality in India, the country I will be cycling across for my challenge.

All of the money raised for Plan will be in memory of my Mum, so I really would appreciate any help and support you can provide to Plan.

The charity, Plan, is a worldwide childrens charity, working in Asia, Africa and Central & South America. Plan work with children in the poorest countries to help provide them a better future.

I will be cycling across India, one of those countries that Plan supports. Plan have also been amazing enough to let me visit one of their projects in India at the end of my trip.

Some of the projects Plan focuses on include: constructing schools, improving sanitation facilities, providing information on sexual health and rights, providing protection from violence, registering births so children can attend school in the future, increasing adolescent girls attainment of basic education and providing economic empowerment for homeless children.  

If my fundraising target is met, we could send 5 children to school. It doesn't sound like a lot, but it is 5 more children that re being helped out of poverty.
