On January 17th 2020, one of my closest friends Tom Green lost his mother Jane Barrett on her 53rd birthday.

Jane discovered cancer of the womb and ovaries in 2016. This lead to a hysterectomy and radio therapy treatment and in to remission in 2017.
After just eight months Jane then discovered cancer of the bowel which lead to further chemo-therapy and in to remission in 2018.
In 2019 Jane was then informed the cancer was back and was terminal. After having one dose of Chemo-therapy Jane decided against further chemo and wished for a better way of life and spent her remaining eight months enjoying her closest friends and families company wanting them to remember herself as the popular and loving mother and friend we all knew and loved.

The Princess Alice Hospice simply went above and beyond with not just Jane, but those all so close to her. Making the surroundings feel like her home where she was more than comfortable. They also provided palliative care for Jane and bereavement counselling support for family members. All of her family and friends had no doubt she was in the best capable hands.

To take on the challenge of The London Marathon 2021 for this charity is an honour. To donate money to a cause which give so much and ask for so little.

Training starts today and I will be updating my social media to give you an understanding of how this is going and will be carrying out further fund raising.
