I'm doing the pretty muddy run in memory of my father in law Tony Baker who was taken by cancer almost 6 years ago. He was the loveliest, kindest man anyone could meet. He adored his family and it is a huge regret for me and my husband that he didn't live long enough to meet our daughters. He would have been besotted with them. 

I'm also running in celebration of my Mom and Nan who have both survived cancer. They are such an inspiration because they simply got on with it without an ounce of self pity or bitterness. Girl power personified!

Finally, I'm running in honour of the bravery and determination of my friend Dawn West who is currently receiving treatment for cancer. She's a genuine Super Woman; so much so that she is also doing the pretty muddy run despite having undergone surgery less than 8 weeks ago. I salute you!
