Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
My mum was a fighter. She believed in doing things well, without a fuss. She could also easily outrun me on one of our seafront runs, in the face of howling North Sea gales. She was, she is, my best friend.
In January 2013, after the biggest battle of her life, she succumbed to a vicious and agressive cancer. I saw it eat every part of her up and watched her fade away until the very last breath. She was 57 years old.
What never faded, however, was my mum's spirit; her generosity of soul and her sparkling wit. I don't believe it ever will.
I'm running for her and for us and because I know she would want me to do something positive with my grief. I can think of little else more positive than raising money for the amazing staff at Marie Curie Newcastle who not only made her last days bearable for her, but offered me a home of sorts and allowed me to be with her for every single one of those last precious moments.
Please sponsor me - even if the heartstrings don't tug, it'll be worth it to watch me limp over the finish line probably with yet another new injury!
Dig deep folks!
