We fund long-term, sustainable research to find a cure for brain tumours

Story

I am going to run the Dublin Marathon in October 2022 to raise much needed funds for Brain Tumour Research. My beloved mum was diagnosed with an aggressive brain tumour (glioblastoma) n January this year.  To say we as a family were stunned and devastated is an understatement. There were no symptoms.  Its a cruel illness with no cure and her remaining time is very short. Since hearing of her diagnosis, I have come across a few more cases in much younger people, so this type of cancer appears to target anyone.I ask that you sponsor this cause so that necessary funds can be raised for much needed research into brain tumours - causes/symptoms and hopefully treatments.  Thank you.

Brain tumours kill more children and adults under the age of 40 than any other cancer. Just 1% of the national spend on cancer research has been allocated to this disease. We are a leading voice calling for support and action for research into what is called the last battleground against cancer.
