Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.
Kirsty: Around 18 months ago, I was diagnosed with major depression and anxiety. Through this incredibly tough time there were two things keeping me going when I couldn't: Gordon, and my counselling sessions at Crisis. I referred myself to Crisis, and was lucky enough to get an available space with a wonderful counsellor.
Every visit I was amazed by the dedication of the counselling team, the rapport they had with their clients, and the general safe and welcoming atmosphere. I witnessed people of all ages, from all walks of life coming for appointments, as well as incredibly useful training sessions for those wishing to become counsellors.
Crisis truelly helped save my life. And now I am training to cycle 50-odd miles with Pedal for Scotland - something I could never have even contemplated attempting a year ago.
The least I can do is to try and help this wonderful charity. It is full of amazing people, but heavily reliant on donations to keep running. Please give generously.
Gordon: I have no doubt that, without Crisis, I wouldn't be a happy man. To see the work they do and just how much they have helped Kirsty find her way back, I'm proud to be doing Pedal for Scotland to raise valuable funds in the hope they can help others.
I've had my own battles with depression in the past, something not many people know about, so I urge you to give generously. You may not know who you will be helping, but it might be someone close to you.
