Alzheimer's Society - Ben Nevis Challenge 2010 · 17 September 2010 ·

At Alzheimer’s Society we’re working towards a world where dementia no longer devastates lives. We do this by giving help to those living with dementia today, and providing hope for the future by campaigning to make dementia the priority it should be and funding groundbreaking research.

Story

I'm going to climb Ben Nevis in September to raise awareness and money for the Alzheimer's Society. Alzheimer's and Dementia is currently very underfunded which means those suffering from it aren't always getting the care they need and family of those with dementia are receiving inadequate support.

Dementia affects memory, speech, movement, continence, moods, everything. It robs people of their personality, independance and dignity. Although associated with older people it can develop at any age.

Any money you donate will go directly to the charity to help people living with dementia and towards research into a cure.
