Anyone can get Parkinson’s. It gets worse over time and there’s no cure. Yet. Funding research into the most promising treatments, we’re getting closer to a cure. Until then, we're improving life for people with Parkinson’s, and the people in their lives. Together we'll find a cure.

Story

Thanks for poppIng by.

I've been challenged by some very good friends to take part in this exciting event to raise money for a very worthy cause.

Every hour of every day, someone is told they have Parkinson's Disease, and just over 10 years ago, my Dad was one of these people.  He copes brilliantly, but we couldn't do it without the fantastic support from Parkinson's UK.

Parkinson's UK don't just support those suffering, they are also working tirelessly to find a cure for this dreadful disease, and I am taking part in one of their organised events to cycle from London to Paris in September 2013.

I'm looking to raise a huge amount of money, and in return, you'll all get to read all about my training on my twitter feed: @292miles4parky

Expect a considerable amount of light-hearted moaning about my saddle-sore backside and achy legs via twitter - don't forget; this challenge won't come easy for me - being 5 stone overweight and ridiculously unfit means it's going to be an entertaining few months!

There's one thing that's going tme keep me going through this, and that's the fact that I'm choosing to cycle 470km and train for 9 months to do so.  My Dad has no choice but to cope with this horrible disease every single day.

So please, please, please, dig deep and be generous.

Thank you x
