Story
As some of you may know may know, but most not, I was diagnosed with malignant melanoma in November 2018 after a routine mole check which came as a huge shock. I am fortunate that it is Stage 1a which is generally treatable through surgery and am keeping everything crossed that no further treatment will be needed. I hope my story will help raise awareness of the importance of keeping an eye on your skin and being conscious of changes which could need some some attention. Early intervention is always best, so if you’re at all concerned about something GET IT CHECKED.
l have decided to run the London Marathon in April 2019 to raise funds for Melanoma Focus - a great charity which funds research into and treatment of Melanoma, the most aggressive form of skin cancer. I hope you can support me by donating. My training has not got off to an ideal start as I'm still recovering from my second surgery but as soon as the stitches are removed, I'll be pounding the pavements in preparation and am determined to make the start line and give it my very best effort.
