We support Birmingham Children's Hospital to improve the lives of sick children

Story

In March 2017 my 8 year old daughter was diagnosed with a muscle disease called Juvenile dermatomyositis.  After 9 weeks of trying to find out what was wrong with her we went to Birmingham Children's Hodpital. The wonderful doctors diagnosed her straight away, Emily was then sent for MRI scans, she was put on infusions  of steroids for 3 days, she was given a scan of her heart and she is now on alot of  medication and is improving,  this is all thanks to Birmingham Children's Hospital. We are privileged that this wonderful hospital is on our door step, they have been in touch with us constantly, my daughter has been receiving physio to help her muscles get stronger. Emily wanted to do something to help the hospital as they have been so good in helping her. This 5k walk will be a challenge for her as she does get tired quicker and her muscles are not what they used to be. We would be very grateful if you would be kind enough to sponsor Emily and myself, Heidi and Harry. Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

About the charity

It's bewildering and unsettling for anyone going into hospital but especially for children and that is why we are a fundraising hospital. We raise funds to enhance the experience of our patients by providing state of the art medical equipment and facilities and creating a child-friendly environment.
