Glasgow Samaritans is available 24 hours a day to provide confidential emotional support for people who are experiencing feelings of distress or despair, including those which may lead to suicide. We also raise awareness through speaking to organisations, groups, schools and colleges.

Story

We become aware of the work of the Samaritans as a good friends grandmother Kay McMillan is one of the founder members of the Glasgow branch.  At 90 she remains heavily involved in raising funds and quite frankly puts us all to shame with the amount of time she gives up for others.  So this is our contribution.

On 27th August we are taking part in the Three Peak Challenge.  This will entail climbing Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike and Snowdon in just 24 hours to raise money for Glasgow Samaritans.  You should be aware that at present neither of us own hiking boots and both are more likely to clock up miles walking up and down Buchanan Street than mountains so this really is a challenge.

We need to raise £2000 for the charity by the end of June so please give generously.  It is very much appreciated by us both.
