Story
In 2016 my Dad was diagnosed with prostate cancer, and in August last year he had surgery to stop it in its tracks.
From diagnosis, to surgery, recovery and beyond, Judith (Dad’s Macmillan Nurse) was an amazing support, not only to Dad, but my Mum too. The emotional and practical help that she gave at an incredibly worrying and stressful time was invaluable at all stages of treatment. Her knowledge of Dad’s case, the system and the surgeon meant that she could provide reassurance and answers to any of their questions, often instantly by phone or email.
Therefore, I have set myself the challenge of completing a Macmillan Mighty Hike…a marathon in the Wye Valley and, by all accounts, it’s pretty hilly! It takes place on 4 August 2018, and it would be amazing if you could donate some money to Macmillan Cancer Support so that nurses such as Judith can continue to help families in the same way that she supported mine.
Big love,
