Story
On the 13th October 2019 I will be running the Royal Parks Half Marathon for the Guide Dogs.
Guide dogs change the lives of those who are blind or partially sighted, offering them independence and safety. These dogs are intelligent and loving and often become members of the family.
The lifetime cost of a guide dog, from birth to retirement, is around £55,000 which covers the breeding and the training for the first two years - from birth to graduation - as well as supporting the working partnership.
Guide Dogs work hard to train the dogs, provide them homes with volunteers whilst being trained, support the dogs and the families and re-home them once they retire, all of which costs money.
Without their amazing work many blind or partially sighted people would be reliant on others to be able to live and enjoy their day to day lives.
Please donate what you can to support the Guide Dogs. Thank you!
