Kirsty Longfellow passed away of Acute Myeloid Leukaemia on the 9th of March 2012, aged 24. Kirsty's family and a group of close friends are organising a very special event to celebrate the life of an incredibly brave, much loved and special young woman who is missed by so many. Please help us to raise money and awareness to help support this important cause.
Kirsty’s battle with Leukaemia started when she was diagnosed in December 2010; she underwent chemotherapy, radiotherapy and a bone marrow transplant but unfortunately the Leukaemia was too aggressive and relapsed. Kirsty then made the very brave decision not to have any more treatment but to spend the time she had left with her family and friends.
Despite everything, Kirsty was determined to raise awareness and support others, and along with the help of her family and friends started organising a very special charity event to raise money for Leukaemia and Lymphoma Research and the Teenage Cancer Trust at Hull, where she was treated.
Sadly, Kirsty passed away a week before the event and it was postponed to a later date. One of Kirsty’s last wishes was for the event to go ahead. Kirsty’s Red Carpet Charity Event will now be going ahead on Saturday 6th of October 2012. Please visit www.kirstyparty.co.uk to book your ticket!
