Edinburgh Kiltwalk 2025 · 14 September 2025 ·

We are Canine Partners. We carefully match people with a variety of physical disabilities with expertly trained assistance dogs, creating loving, life-changing partnerships.

Story

I met Wilma and Belle when they came to Molke one day, watching their relationship was wonderful and made me think about my own future independence. Since my disabilities have become far more limiting, the work of Canine Partners means more to me than ever before and I'm excited to be joining their team this year for the Kiltwalk. The dogs make such a huge difference to the lives of disabled people, in so many ways.

Our amazing dogs bring a greater independence and quality of life to their partners, offering security, companionship, and practical help with everyday household tasks. They are trained to help with everyday tasks such as opening and closing doors, unloading the washing machine, picking up dropped items, pressing buttons and switches and fetching help in an emergency. Our life-transforming dogs also provide psychological and social benefits including increased independence, confidence, social interaction and self-esteem.
