Fundraising for NHS GGC Children's Diabetes Service

Team Dia-bee-tes is raising money for Glasgow Children’s Hospital Charity

Glasgow Kiltwalk 2025 · 26 April 2025 to 27 April 2025 ·

Time to look out the tartan for the 2025 Glasgow Kiltwalk! Kiltwalk is Scotland’s largest mass participation walking event with over 172,000 people taking part since 2016.

Story

Lisa, Kirsty, Lynda, Zoe, Lynne and Laura work in the diabetes team supporting children and their families living with diabetes. We are fundraising for The Children's Hospital Charity - Paediatric Diabetes Fund.

Type 1 diabetes is an autoimmune condition which results in the bodies inability to make the hormone insulin which is responsible for regulation of blood glucose levels. It is a relentless 24/7 job to manage.

Over 100 children are diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes each year in Glasgow. It is so tough for our families so we would love to raise some funds to organise and do some fun activities with our patients and their families.

Time for the six of us to walk a marathon (well 23 miles!!) because every day is a marathon for the families we work with and they are an inspiration ⭐

Thank you to everyone for reading our page! ❤️
