Just a little jog?!

Hastings Half Marathon 2011 · 20 March 2011 ·
UPDATE: So, we did it!
It took us 2 hours and 45 minutes. Not exactly athlete timing, but far better than I had expected. It was great to see all the Hastings folk clapping, cheering us on, making lots of noise and playing music to keep the runners going... and even nicer to see the lovely people handing out water! It was well needed! Even got a brass medal at the end.
For all of those waiting for results before sponsoring me... sponsor now! The Sara Lee Trust is so worth it.
Thanks guys!

I still don't quite believe that I'm writing this, but me and my housemates seem to be going for a little jog on Sunday. Around Hastings, for about 13.1 miles. What a nice leisurely activity!
Those of you that know me well will understand that I'm not aiming for a spectacular race time... I'm just hoping to get to the finish line alive.
The benefit? Any money I raise will go to the Sara Lee Trust who are a Hastings based charity that provide complementary therapies free of charge to people with cancer, motor neurone disease and HIV/Aids. Basically, they're a really good cause doing really great things.
Find out more about them here: http://www.saraleetrust.org/
That's about all there is to say. Have a good sponsor, and if you're in Hastings on the 20th... come and join us for the well needed drinks afterwards!
Much love,
Kirsty and the Portland Roaders.
