Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I am going to swim the distance of the English Channel 34k in my Grandparents pool by the end of this term.
Like many others I have dyslexia, this can make learning a struggle but with the right help we can succeed - in fact 40% of self made millionaires have dyslexia.
I saw my brother drinking VIMTO and asked why he would drink something that not only tasted of sick but said VOMIT on the can?!?!
I am very lucky to have had an Ed. Psych. Assessment, the findings of which have helped me understand why I find school difficult - I always thought I was stupid! Thanks to the assessment and my brilliant Learning Support teacher Mrs Moss as well as my other teachers, I now have the confidence to believe "I CAN" rather than think "I CAN'T"
However some people still think DYSLEXIA = STUPID, this most definitely is not the case, we just think and learn differently.
I would like to help those who aren't as lucky as me get the help they need to achieve their full potential, along the wobbly road of learning! And for all us dyslexics to be given support from their friends, teachers and family.
Please support me on my swim, those of you who know me well know that I have lots of determination but often struggle with confidence to complete a task.
Thank you very much.
