Poppy pushes Kat in the 2012 Loch Ness Marathon

Loch ness marathon · 24 July 2012
Poppy Baggott is going to push Katherine Heriot Maitland in the Loch Ness Marathon in a wheelchair specially designed for the task on the 30th September 2012.
They are raising money for Headway Edinburgh, a charity dedicated to helping and supporting the traumatically head injured, and people who have suffered other brain injuries and their families and carers. www.headway.org.uk
Katherine suffered from an AVM (Arterior Venus Malformation) in September 2010, which changed life as she and her family knew it. Following the AVM, Kat has has been working incredibly hard on making a recovery, and attributes the ability to have been able to do this to both carers and her family.
Katherine could have run this Marathon Herself less than two years ago, she now barley sees the wheels of her wheelchair. The reason why Poppy and Katherine are doing this together is to raise awareness for this charity and the impact it can have on people's like Katherine’s lives. Poppy and Katherine used to run together but now Poppy is forced to push her in her chair.
They are raising sponsorship for Headway Edinburgh, a charity which helps people in similar situations to Katherine, and it is very important to them that everyone realises all the hard work that goes into charities such as these. A large number of people have a link to someone who may have experienced a similar experience to Katherine with her young family.
We are asking you to please consider becoming a sponsor for this once in a lifetime opportunity.
