I am looking forward to fundraisng for the 3rd consecutive year for sash charity.

2019 has been an epic year in which I have celebrated my 60th birthday, completed 60th marathon, completed 5 x 100km ultra marathons and 2 x 50km ultra marathons.  in addition to Manchester, Brighton and London marathons completed in April this year.  A huge massive thank you to all work colleagues, friends and family for all your help and support towards achieving this.

Thanks to the Covid19 situation, 2020 has proved interesting. The main feature is despite all this, I have managed to achieve a very personal and substantial goal.  Back on 27th April I signed up to an online fitness challenge organised by the run series for Run Reigate and Run Gatwick supporting Sash charity. As shifts have not been readily available, I decided to do something positive and set a very personal goal, aiming to run/walk/jog the distance from Lands End to John O Groats 1083 miles in total.

By 31st May I had run/walked 500 miles, leaving me 583 miles to cover by 30th June.  I have been running/walking/jogging exceptionally long distances over the past 2 months sometimes going out twice a day once lockdown eased, and going out in all types of weather, sometimes extreme weather as well.

On Saturday evening 27th June I had managed 1,000 miles and did a further 10 miles on Sunday, leaving me with just 63 miles to cover in 2 days to complete the distance.  On Tuesday evening at 9 pm I had successfully completed 1084 miles in total.  I am continuing with ongoing virtual events, and many thanks to all friends and family for the continued support/encouragement you provide.
