Hello my name is Kathryn, I’m lead clinical trials pharmacist at Cardiff & Vale UHB & a Pharmacist Support Charity Ambassador. It’s my 50th birthday on 9th July 2020 & we were planning to go on a road trip, in our Mazda MX5, to visit the Normandy Beaches & Loire Valley in France. Unfortunately the COVID19 lockdown in Wales & France means this trip is unlikely to happen. Rather than driving into France I’m going to walk, run & cycle the 500 miles between Cardiff & the Loire Valley in the 10 weeks running up to my 50th  birthday. I will be asking for donations to Pharmacist Support so they are able to offer wellbeing, employment, legal & financial support to pharmacy students, preregistration pharmacy students, pharmacists, retired pharmacists and their relatives affected by COVID19.

The COVID 19 virus has put extra pressure on the pharmacy sector. As front-line members of the healthcare system we spend much of our lives serving others. Our charity - Pharmacist Support - exists to support members of our pharmacy family through these challenging times. Join me in supporting their efforts to protect the mental health and wellbeing of our colleagues. Its hard to try and think about ourselves at this time, but it is crucial.
